Kumi Orthopaedic Center is a private specialized hospital for bone and joint ailments. It was founded in 2011 by Dr. John Ekure in honor of his late mother, Elizabeth Opola. She was a midwife working in Kumi district by the time she was killed, during the period of insurgency in the Teso region.
